    I have it. Way too many pockets, great quality but the added weight of the 350+ pockets wears the front fabric. I read a review, the dude ripes his open. Costumer service replaced it though. Also quite a bit heavy because once again of all those useless pockets.

    Morning Tom, Ive been looking forward to seeing this, great indepth review. I was trying to decide for a few months if i wanted the crossfire or the platatac echo mk3 ( small one ). I went for the platatac in the end. Im not convinced on the LTAS. Im all for innovation and mollie does add up on weight. However mollie looks more secure. It looks a bit long and i wonder if it would top flap ok in issued bergans. Thanks again mate

    • @PreparedPathfinder
      @PreparedPathfinder 9 дней назад

      I think the LTAS system is pretty good TBH, it wouldn’t work for pouches on a belt but it works great for packs. It’s not too long for use with belt kit, it fits great. Ref top flapping, yep no problem, as long as the helmet isn’t in the beavertail. Would be too wide with that in too.

    Was wondering how/if it could direct-attach to the DZ rig, thanks for the in-depth overview. Probably the most feature-packed and overbuilt assault pack on the market... And it's not annoying or time consuming to reconfigure, less than five minutes to set up as either a standalone, or integrate into the DZ yoke. Crossfire really needs to expand on all the features of this thing on their website, especially the bit on how it integrates into the DZ rig, that's a huge bonus to have a pack integrate without adding layers over your shoulder pocket.

Seeing you all milling about on the airfield before emplaning reminds me of the scene in "Band of Brothers" where the guy is looking at a Luger belonging to a British para who tells him "you're having a larf if you think you're half-inching that!" Once more here there is a usefull and informative video Everybody laughs with "survival navigation" until they get in trouble where they cry because they never learned it. In my civilian life 3 times i got lost in a foreign land and i was able to find my way using these techniques. First time in Slovakia where nobody spoke English (and i speak no slovak) to tell me how to get to Vienna. So with these techniques i found where is west and in 4-5 km i was in the boarders. Another time we were in the middle of nowhere in Western Serbia inside a forrest when my car and there were no signs and no GPS signal. we got in a crossroad and again i found my way. Third time again in the boonies having got with some locals "who knew the area" and they experts got lost. Again i found my way. So do not underestimate the usefulness of survival navigation. everybody will need it whether he is military or civilian. GPS can always break, run out of batteries or not having signal. I still praise my instructors in the army who taugh me this

    Hi there, understandably I know this is a late one considering the vid came out 2 years ago. But when it comes to combining all 3 layers would you do the standard daysack under your top lid or would you primarily be using your bergen on patrols given your job role? I've got a beast bergen and a similar sleep system and I'm finding it a pain to top flap my daysack as it just seems there's not enough room? Many thanks and I appreciate your insight into this topic
